Introduction

The Diploma of Quality Auditing is the nationally recognized qualification for management system auditors.  This training provides participants with the core competencies to audit management systems of all types, as a lead auditor, with the emphasis on understanding organizational risk.

The qualification provides participants with the required knowledge and skills to:

  • Prepare to conduct a management systems audit including initiation of the process and creation of audit work plans
  • Liaise with different parties in the audit process
  • Conduct and participate in the audit process including on and off site activities
  • Lead the audit
  • Manage audit team activities
  • Provide feedback to both audit stakeholders and audit team members on audit outcomes and management system performance

The qualification also ensures that participants are competent to systematically identify and manage organizational risks with particular emphasis on compliance and management review.

Vocational Outcomes

This training is especially suitable for

  • Those currently involved in any form of Management System implementation who will be auditing their systems
  • Those carrying out and leading audits, looking to gain formal recognition of their knowledge and experience.
  • Those with expertise in areas such as environmental, quality, or safety management looking to gain knowledge and experience in auditing.
Structure of the Training

This training also meets auditor competencies specified by RABQSA International as the first step to becoming a registered auditor under the RABQSA International Auditor Certification scheme.

Structure of the Training

This training is modularized with participants needing to complete both training course modules and post course assessments to demonstrate workplace competence by means of audit conduct and projects

Module 1 – Risk Management and Compliance

This module covers the complementary subjects of risk management and compliance. The effectiveness of these systems is a key focus of management system audits, with the aims of ensuring internal monitoring processes identify and take into account critical system elements such as legal compliance, preventing risks and identifying ways to continually improve.

Identify and interpret compliance requirements

  • BSBCOM502B

Evaluate and review compliance requirements

This training module is conducted as a 2 day face to face course where training and assessment is designed around participants carrying out the steps to systematically identify risk and compliance issues using case studies, allowing them to practice the techniques to be applied post course.

In course - Assessment
This module features a range of assessment events designed to allow multiple opportunities for participants to demonstrate competency. These include practical implementation exercises such as risk identification and assessment activities utilizing case study organizations, as well as written, knowledge based assignments.

Post Course Assessment
Participants must also complete a workplace risk and compliance management project as part of demonstrating competence and submit relevant examples of the associated documentation for assessment purposes.

Module Two Management Systems Auditing

This module covers the key theory and practice of carrying out and leading audits of all types of management systems including those for quality, safety and environmental management. It equips participants with the skills and knowledge to lead effective audit teams through the complete audit process as per the ISO19011 Standard.

Ensure team effectiveness

Training is run as a 3 day face to face course designed to reflect actual audit conditions with participants sampling a case study organisation’s management system, formulating an auditing strategy and gaining practical experience in the audit process.    
                                                              
In course Assessment
This module features a range of assessment events designed to allow multiple opportunities for participants to demonstrate competency. These include practical audit exercises, written knowledge based assignments and submission of an audit report.

Post Course Assessment
Participants must also lead at least two management systems audits and submit the associated audit documentation for assessment purposes.      

‘In House’ programme option (minimum 6 participants)
Training and assessment is customized to suit the needs of your organisation, typically by providing the opportunity for participants to not only learn the skills of auditing, but to carry out “live” audits of their organisation’s own Management System, which can then count as part of their audit experience. 

Recognition of Prior Learning and/ or Current Competence

If you believe that you have already acquired some or all of the competencies through training, work or life experience you can apply for recognition of current competence (RCC). We provide recognition kits with evidence guides to assist candidates in being able to demonstrate competence. Recognition

Andsam Training recognises AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment awarded by other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). These must be authenticated by the provision of properly completed assessment records such as a Statement of Attainment.  Please inform us if you have already completed any units prior to commencement of training.

Auditor Recognition Options

Successful completion of these modules counts towards participant’s eligibility to register as a Provisional Auditor under the RABQSA International Auditor Certification Scheme (www.rabqsa.com).
